Hardwood Floor Installation Oakland CA
Oakland homes have character built over decades. The floors should honor that. Get a Free EstimateOakland has some of the most interesting residential architecture in the Bay Area, from Craftsman bungalows in the Laurel District to mid-century modern homes in the hills. Many have original hardwood floors that are worth preserving. We have been working in Oakland since 1999, in homes where the right call is often refinishing rather than replacing, and where hillside subfloors require more attention than flat-lot homes.
What We Install in Oakland
Hardwood Installation
Solid and engineered hardwood imported directly since 1999. Oakland's older Craftsman and Victorian homes suit the warmth of real wood better than any synthetic alternative. We match species and grade to the character of the home.
LVP
Waterproof and practical for Oakland homes with moisture-prone spaces, basements, and ground-level rooms. We carry 8mm to 13mm SPC options suited to Oakland's coastal-influenced humidity.
Waterproof Hardwood
Real wood surface with moisture-resistant construction. For rooms where real wood character matters and moisture is a factor. See our waterproof hardwood collection.
Sanding and Refinishing
We check remaining wear layer before quoting. If your floor qualifies for refinishing, we say so. If it does not, we tell you before any work begins.
Why Oakland Homeowners Choose Redeemed Flooring
We walk every subfloor before we quote. If leveling is needed, we say so upfront and quote it separately after the existing floor is removed. No guessing.
One project lead from estimate through final walkthrough. One name, one conversation thread, no confusion mid-project.
Five-year workmanship warranty. CA Lic. 1113022, $2M liability insurance, $25K surety bond. We are still reachable after the job is done.
How It Works
We respond the same day. Real person, no hold queue.
Our field estimator measures, checks the subfloor, and gives honest advice before any numbers come up.
Materials and installation on one line. Anything additional labeled separately before you commit.
We walk the finished floor with you before the crew leaves. No exceptions.

โWould absolutely recommend! They got my entire place done in less than a week from when they came to initially look at it. Turned out great and I'm very happy.โRyan C., Oakland |
Common Questions from Oakland Homeowners
What flooring works best in Oakland homes?
Oakland's climate is influenced by marine air from the Bay, with mild temperatures and moderate humidity year-round. This is actually a favorable environment for solid hardwood compared to more extreme inland climates. Engineered hardwood is still the safer choice for rooms over concrete or with humidity variation. The hills have drier microclimates than the flatlands, which affects product recommendations.
What does flooring installation cost in Oakland?
LVP runs $7 to $9 per square foot for materials and installation. Waterproof hardwood runs $9 to $15. Traditional hardwood runs $12 to $20 depending on species and grade. Refinishing runs $7 to $8 per square foot. Removal, subfloor leveling, baseboards, and transitions are quoted separately.
How long does installation take?
Most whole-home installs take two to four days. Hardwood requires acclimation time before installation begins, which we build into the schedule upfront so there are no surprises mid-project.
What is included in the installation price?
Materials and installation. Removal, subfloor leveling, baseboards, transitions, and stair work are quoted separately and clearly labeled. Nothing appears after you say yes.
Do you offer refinishing for existing hardwood?
Oakland is one of the best cities in the Bay Area for hardwood refinishing, because so many homes have original floors with significant wear layer remaining. We check before we quote and recommend refinishing over replacement when the floor qualifies. The original wood in a 1920s Oakland Craftsman has a grain character that new product cannot replicate.
Replacing original Oakland hardwood when it could have been refinished is a loss that does not show up on the invoice but shows up every time you look at the floor.
The right call in an older Oakland home often costs less and looks better than the replacement. We help you figure out which situation you are in.
